Where he found meaning in abandoned objects and everyday forms
Christopher Robin Obetz
Awarded the Richard Avedon award for photography, CR’s vision took root as he became a multimedia mixed use artist.
Honoring the Past
Every work begins with discovery, a found object, a photograph, a forgotten relic. CR rescues pieces of history: vintage cameras, sporting relics, Havana chairs, scrap-yard fragments, original golf materials.
Through layered paint, collage, sculpture, and motion, he transforms them into textured narratives that invite touch, evoke memory, and celebrate resilience.
Art, like life, is a process of reclaiming and rising. CR’s work honors the past while re-imagining what it can become.

Signature Influences & Visual DNA
CR’s Lifelong Pursuit
His motto: "Forgotten beauty found.”
Raised in Columbus, Ohio during the rise of American pop art, CR was shaped by bold icons and public art, including championing Roy Lichtenstein’s Brushstrokes in Flight installation.
His artistic language evolved in New York, working alongside Vito Giallo, Andy Warhol’s first studio assistant. Their collaborations inspired CR’s lifelong pursuit of forgotten beauty found, a philosophy rooted in his art history studies at Kenyon College, where he found meaning in abandoned objects and everyday forms.
This foundation became his visual DNA: bold scale, layered materials, cultural memory, motion, and revival.
