Bobby Jones "Statesman" in Black
The original scratchboards of Anthony Ravielli were white. Ravielli would then etch his black lines into the surface. Creating precise anatomical detail and expressions, these works meticulously document his subjects. “Statesman in Black,” reverses the original scratchboard process. Adding to the intensity, black serves to emphasize the mystery of the legend few ever knew while providing an alternate background to illuminate the original artistry of Anthony Ravielli.
